Stride for Care is Caregiving Welfare Association’s (CWA) first-ever virtual race, bringing together individuals and communities to raise awareness and funds for seniors in need and their caregivers. This unique event allows participants to complete their race anytime, anywhere, at their own pace—making it an inclusive and meaningful way to give back.

Every step you take in Stride for Care helps fund CWA’s essential programmes and services, including home-based care, caregiver support groups, respite care, and community engagement initiatives. With Singapore’s ageing population growing, your participation ensures that vulnerable seniors receive the care they deserve and caregivers get the support they need.

Join us in making a difference—one stride at a time! Sign up now and be part of a movement that empowers lives.

Caregiving Welfare Association

Caregiving Welfare Association (CWA) is dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors and empowering their caregivers in our ageing society. As a non-profit Social Service Agency (SSA) registered with the Registry of Societies, an Institution of Public Character (IPC), and a member of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS), CWA is committed to delivering dependable direct services across three key areas: Wellness & Social Support, Welfare Support, and Education & Awareness.

Our vision is to empower and enrich the lives of our clients and beneficiaries, promoting dignified ageing within their homes and communities. With a mission focused on providing resources for caregivers, fostering independence for seniors, and ensuring joyful ageing-in-place, CWA embodies a philosophy rooted in dignity and joy throughout the ageing journey.

At the heart of our organisation are our core values: Compassion, Integrity, Respect, Excellence, and Trust. We prioritise genuine care, honesty, consideration, continuous improvement, and transparency in all our endeavours, earning the trust of our clients, beneficiaries, and stakeholders through our unwavering commitment to excellence.

Together, we champion dignity and joy in ageing, supporting seniors and their caregivers alike.

Care Close to Home

Frail and alone, Uncle Tung has faced a lifetime of challenges. Born in 1947 as the second of thirteen siblings, he now lives alone, having lost contact with his family. In his twenties, a severe workplace accident resulted in the loss of his right arm, an event that has shaped his life ever since. Living in a rental flat, he survives on limited government aid and frequently visits the hospital due to recurrent falls.

Although he has three sons and a daughter, Uncle Tung hasn’t seen them in years, leaving him feeling deeply isolated. However, last year, things changed when the Caregiving Welfare Association (CWA) began supporting him. Now, a CWA Community Caregiver visits him three times a week to assist with daily tasks such as housekeeping, showering, and meal preparation. This practical help and companionship have made a profound difference in his life. One memorable moment occurred when Uncle Tung fell and remained helpless for nearly 13 hours, until a CWA Community Caregiver found him and ensured he received the medical attention he needed.

Through all his struggles, Uncle Tung remains immensely grateful for CWA’s support, which he calls a “gift from heaven.” His greatest wish is to see his children again, but until then, he finds solace in the care and hope provided by CWA.

Looking ahead, CWA is launching the Remote Monitoring & Support Programme, which leverages technology to ensure vulnerable seniors like Uncle Tung receive timely care. To sustain this initiative for two years, CWA is seeking contributions to help more seniors live independently.
